Picture perfect: Alabama Big 10 Mayors launch annual city life photo competition

BIRMINGHAM – The Alabama Big 10 Mayors kicked off its annual statewide photo competition, allowing Alabamians to submit their photos from the state’s 10 biggest cities with a chance to be recognized as the winner and receive a cash prize.

“Over the past few years of organizing this photo contests we have seen some truly excellent photo submissions from Alabamians across the state,” said the Alabama Big 10 Mayors in a statement. “From the Tennessee Valley to the Gulf Coast, each of the Big 10 cities is full of art, architecture, history, culture, and natural beauty – this contest is a great way for Alabamians to show their city pride through a camera lens.”

Participants can submit entries until Sept. 2, with voting to conclude Sept. 9. The photos should be submitted via DM to the Alabama Big 10 Mayors Facebook page.

The photos will be shared through social media and the entry with the most likes will be the winner. The prize is a $500 Visa gift card and recognition as competition winner from the Alabama Big 10 Mayors’ platform.

The Alabama Big 10 Mayors organization represents Auburn, Birmingham, Decatur, Dothan, Hoover, Huntsville, Madison, Mobile, Montgomery, and Tuscaloosa.

 “We encourage all Alabamians with an artistic eye for photography and a passion for your city to participate and we look forward to seeing the winning submission,” the mayors’ group said.
