HUNTSVILLE – With a goal of celebrating local talent, Huntsville City Council Member Michelle Watkins and Arts Huntsville announce “Quarterly at Cavalry.”
The new free quarterly arts and entertainment series is designed to activate the Cavalry Hill Community Center Theatre and provide dynamic, accessible arts programming in the heart of the Northwoods community.
“Northwoods Community at Cavalry Hill School is a vital asset to this district, and my goal is to ensure it is activated and embraced by the community,” said Watkins. “We are opening its doors to host these free arts events to celebrate local talent and bring people together. By partnering with Arts Huntsville, we are creating a consistent, high-quality series that will bring the transformative power of music, dance, and theater right into the Northwoods neighborhood.
“We are excited to build community through the arts, and I invite everyone to join us for our ‘Jazzgiving’ celebration.”
“Jazzgiving with Friends” featuring Alex Banks and Tommy “Sax Legend” Friend kicks off the program this month, just before the Thanksgiving holiday.
“Arts Huntsville works throughout the year to create opportunities for everyone to experience the arts across our city,” said Allison Dillon-Jauken, executive director of Arts Huntsville. “The new ‘Quarterly at Cavalry’ arts series is designed to bring a dynamic mix of performances to the Cavalry Hill Community Center. Making the arts accessible to every resident, right in their own neighborhood, is what this partnership is all about.
