River Clay shaping Decatur’s fine arts community for 10 years

DECATUR – A weekend of inspiration, shopping, and fun is rolling into the River City this month.

Returning to the Decatur City Hall Lawn, the 10th annual River Clay Fine Arts Festival welcomes arts lovers from near and far Oct. 25-26.

“We’re proud to celebrate 10 years of River Clay, bringing together artists and art lovers in the heart of Decatur,” said Jennifer Bunnell of the Alabama Center for the Arts. “It’s more than a festival — it’s a community tradition that supports and celebrates the arts.”

The family-friendly celebration of creativity brings together artists, collectors, and the community. Festival hours are Oct. 25 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Oct. 26 from 1-4 p.m.

Admission is $5 per person, with free entry for children 12 and under. Tickets can be purchased on-site; cash and credit cards are accepted.

The event is also dog-friendly, making it a perfect outing for the whole family.

The festival features:

  • More than 65 juried artists showcasing fine art in a variety of mediums
  • Art demonstrations, including work by Athens Forge
  • Food trucks, live music, and vendors
  • Opportunities to meet artists, purchase unique works, and engage in hands-on art activities
