Rocket City to the Music City: Huntsville Music Office bringing North Alabama sound to Americanafest

HUNTSVILLE – The Huntsville Music Office is hitting the road to Nashville in September during Huntsville Music Month to shine a spotlight on North Alabama’s rich music talent during Americanafest 2025.

Featured within the internationally acclaimed music conference’s programming will be two special events that celebrate the unique sounds of North Alabama talent and connect artists with a national audience.

“We’re excited about opportunities like this that put local talent on a national stage and showcase why we are becoming one of the country’s most exciting music hubs,” said Huntsville Music Officer Matt Mandrella. “The Rocket City bringing some of North Alabama’s best to Nashville for these events in September especially reinforces our position within the Americana Music Triangle.”

  • Muscle Shoals Meets the Rocket City, Sept. 9, 5-9 p.m.
Presented by FAME Recording Studios in partnership with the Huntsville Music Office, this special event at Martin’s BBQ in downtown Nashville will pair smoky Southern flavor with an equally rich lineup of regional talent.
From the raw energy of Common Man and Karmessa’s soul-stirring vocals to the family harmonies of The LeBlanc Family Band, the event embodies the musical legacy of Muscle Shoals and Huntsville’s growing scene.
Rising star Kensie Coppin will share the stage with Steve Knight and Grammy winner Mike Farris, promising a night of powerhouse performances that remind audiences why North Alabama continues to shape American roots music.
  • Rocket City Ramble, Sept. 11, Noon-5 p.m.
Back for its second year, the Rocket City Ramble returns to Acme Feed & Seed on Broadway with an afternoon marathon of music that proves Huntsville’s scene is built for the big stage.
Presented by the Huntsville Music Office in partnership with the Huntsville/Madison County Convention & Visitors Bureau, ASmartPlace, FAME Recording Studios and Wrangler, the five-hour event will feature a mix of fresh faces and seasoned voices.
The Burney Sisters will kick things off with their signature blend of harmonies before passing the spotlight to soulful storyteller Hollan and the electrifying Jayne & The Huntsmen. Audience favorites The LeBlanc Family Band and Mike Farris and Steve Knight bring their seasoned chops, while Treetop & The Gifted will close out the event with a high-energy set that captures the city’s creative momentum.

Both events are free and open to both Americanafest badge holders and the public, space permitting.
