Second victim dies from Huntsville shooting in October

HUNTSVILLE — A second victim has died after a shooting at a gas station on Meridian Street back in October.

The Huntsville Police Department said 24-year-old Davante Centrell Dixon died Sunday from his wounds in the Oct. 12 shooting.

Five people have been arrested and charged with reckless murder: Dion Earl Ernest Roos-VorHauer, 19; Jordan C Lakes, 20; Tyler O’Neal Andrade, 21; Jordan Latrell Smith, 21; and Kennedy Thomas Turner, 20, all of Huntsville.

The shooting happened around 9:45 p.m. When officers responded to the Chevron gas station at 3310 Meridian Street, they found 22-year-old Damien Obrien Manning with a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The HPD Major Crimes Unit is continuing the investigation. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact Investigator Matthew Edger at 256-427-7247.
