TANNER — A Limestone County site has received the CSX Silver Select Site designation, the Limestone County Economic Development Association announced today.
The Devaney site in Tanner is among 14 sites in eight states to earn a Silver or Bronze rating based on an evaluation of a wide range of site characteristics for industrial development.
“Being chosen by CSX for the prestigious Silver Select Site designation is a testament to the unparalleled potential of the Devaney Site,” said association President & CEO Bethany Shockney. “This recognition not only solidifies Limestone County’s position as a prime destination for industrial development but also highlights our unwavering commitment to fostering economic growth and innovation.
“We are excited to collaborate with CSX and leverage this opportunity to further propel our community’s prosperity and success. Additionally, I would like to thank the property owners for partnering with our association to let us market this as one of our premier sites in Limestone County.”
CSX worked with more than 40 communities over the past several months to gather information and identify top candidates for the Select Site program, which connects expanding companies with highly desirable rail-served properties, the railroad said in a news statement.
“We are very excited to announce this latest round of Select Site designees and congratulate the landowners, counties, and utility partners involved,” said Kellen Riley, CSX Senior Director of Industrial Development. “The information collected for these properties, which will soon be available online through the CSX Prospector listing, will allow site consultants and manufacturers a quick and convenient way to identify premium rail served industrial properties where they can locate new manufacturing facilities — generating new jobs and capital investment.”
