The Easter Bunny spotted hopping towards Huntsville; ETA Parkway Place Friday

(Parkway Place Mall Contributed)

The rumors are true … the Easter Bunny has been spotted hopping its way towards Huntsville this week, and its first stop is Parkway Place Mall!

The bunny will be setting up its Easter Bunny Garden at center court on the lower level of the mall on Friday, March 25, in preparation for a nice long springtime visit, bringing goodies and a lot of fun to one of Huntsville’s favorite shopping venues.

The long-eared, cotton-tailed rabbit will be on hand at Parkway Place through Saturday, April 16, to take family Easter photos Monday through Saturday from 11 a.m. until 7 p.m. and Sunday from noon until 6 p.m.

On Mondays, March 28 and April 4, you can have pictures taken with the bunny and your pets from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m.

On Saturday, April 9 from noon until 2 p.m., the beloved hare will do storytime with some of its favorite fairytale characters Tinkerbell and the pirate from Peter Pan in the Parkway Place play area on the upper level of the mall.

But in case you haven’t heard, the Easter Bunny gets around!

Parkway Place has teamed up with Cherry Hill Programs, Autism Speaks, and The Riley Center to host Bunny Cares on Sunday, April 3 from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m.

The Easter Bunny will arrive at the Riley Center for a sensory-friendly photo experience for children with all spectrums of special needs so they too can enjoy the tradition of the Easter Bunny in a calm environment.

The fabled bunny, whose original name was “Osterhase,” is said to have stowed away on board an immigrant ship from Germany in the 1700s. She revealed herself to the children once they landed in Pennsylvania and the children were so thrilled, they made nests where she could safely lay her pastel-colored eggs.

Through the years, the Easter Bunny has been seen delivering decorated baskets filled with chocolates and goodies to children, to thank them for their warm welcome to America!

Availability is limited for all three events so reservations are strongly recommended and can be made online here. You can also purchase a photo package while you are there.

And for a little extra fun, Parkway Place is giving away three photo packages with the Easter Bunny for free. Text keyword BUNNY to 256-273-5560 and get more details here. You may prepay and purchase photo packages beginning March 21.
