HUNTSVILLE – Quality of life continues to go “up” in and around Huntsville’s Cummings Research Park.

The most recent development is The Kelvin at Upland Park, a 301-unit luxury apartment community. Nashville-based Nicol Investment Co. and award-winning apartment management company RAM Partners opened the community this week.

“We are thrilled to begin welcoming the first residents to The Kelvin in Upland Park,” said Kyle Burkett, managing director of Asset Management at NIC. “It is an excellent addition to West Huntsville, offering an elevated apartment experience with the conveniences of urban living and easy access to major employment centers.”

The Kelvin is the second of four projects at the 60-acre, $200 million Upland Park development between Explorer Way and University Drive.

The Kelvin joins Vitality at Upland Park, a 189-unit Class-A senior-care project; the upcoming The Collins, a 334-unit luxury multifamily community; and a nearly complete HQ, an office and retail project co-developed with Nashville-based Vintage South.

The entire project is surrounded by acres of passive and active greenspace.

The Kelvin is a mid-rise designed by JHP, offering one-, two- and three-bedroom floor plans. There are on-site office workspaces and spacious garages with EV charging stations.

The community has a contemporary clubhouse with a social lounge, an on-site beer garden, a state-of-the-art 24-hour fitness center complimented by a yoga/flex studio with Echelon Bikes and a saltwater pool with a sundeck and grilling stations.

Brenda Lindner, executive vice president and managing partner at RAM Partners, said they are excited to be working with NIC on another project.

“We are committed to taking care of the people who call The Kelvin home and exceeding the expectations of everyone involved,” she said. “The entire project is awe-inspiring.”
