TUSCALOOSA — President Trump will deliver the commencement address at the University of Alabama next month, he announced on social media Monday.
However, the university has not yet confirmed the announcement nor the speakers for the ceremonies.
Commencement is scheduled for May 2-4 at Coleman Coliseum.
“I have agreed to do the Commencement Address at two really GREAT places, the University of Alabama and, WEST POINT,” Trump wrote on Truth Social. “Stay tuned for times and dates!!!”
U.S. Sen. Katie Britt, an alumna of the university, said Trump’s appearance would make the milestone weekend “even more memorable” for the graduates.
“I’m thrilled President Trump will deliver the keynote address at the University of Alabama’s commencement ceremonies this year,” said Britt (R-Montgomery). “It is a tremendous honor for the university and for this year’s graduating class to welcome a sitting President to campus — a first in the nearly 200-year history of the University of Alabama. As an alumna, I am especially proud to see my alma mater chosen for such a historic occasion.
“President Trump will make this milestone weekend in Tuscaloosa even more memorable for graduates and their families. Alabamians across our great state look forward to welcoming the 47th President to campus as we celebrate the hard work and accomplishments of the Class of 2025.”
