FLORENCE – Goalkeeper Madison Vukas, who set several North Alabama records, was named Atlantic Sun Conference Goalkeeper of the Year. She was among three Lions who earned All-ASUN awards.
Vukas, who also earned First Team All-ASUN honors, was joined by junior midfielder/defender Adelyn Speight – who was given the nod for second team All-ASUN – and freshman midfielder Avery Stojakovich, who was named to the All-Freshman Team.
This is the second ASUN Goalkeeper of the Year award for the UNA program and the second honoree in three years under head coach Chris Walker and Assistant Coach Tara McQueen, who works directly with the Lion keepers. Adriana Wright won the award in 2023.
“Madison has had a fantastic season and thoroughly deserves this award,” said Walker. “There are some fantastic goalkeepers in the Atlantic Sun, so I am extremely proud of her for achieving this award.”
Vukas, a graduate student, joined the Lions in the 2025 off-season after stops at Bowling Green and Pitt.
The Pittsburgh native earns the third First Team All-ASUN honor in school history after her stellar season. The graduate keeper led the Lions to the highest team save percentage in the country (.902) and fewest goals allowed in the ASUN (12).
Vukas set a school record for the fewest goals allowed while also claiming the Division I era records for saves (111) and goals-against average (.624) for a single season. Her play led to nine clean sheets for the season, dubbing her the nickname, “Clean Sheet Queen.” This season, she led the Lions to the second-most shutouts in a single season during the Division I era.
She led the ASUN in goals-against average, save percentage and shutouts while finishing fourth in both saves and saves per game. She finished ranked nationally in save percentage (2nd), saves (8th), shutouts (19th), goals-against average (21st) and saves per game (23rd).
