Veterans Day parade to bring road closures, heavy foot traffic to downtown Huntsville

HUNTSVILLE – The Huntsville Police Department advises motorists to expect traffic delays and road closures in downtown Monday for the annual Veterans Day Parade.

This year’s parade steps off at 11 a.m. and will follow a new route, offering spectators more space and improved visibility.

Several streets and intersections along the parade route will close in phases beginning at 8 a.m., with all streets closed by 10:30.

Additionally, the Interstate 565 exit ramp to downtown Huntsville will be closed during the event.

The parade will begin at Lot K on Woodson Street and Holmes Avenue, and end on Clinton Avenue near Woodson Street. Roads are expected to reopen at 2 p.m.

HPD reminds drivers to exercise caution, be mindful of increased foot traffic and plan their routes accordingly.
