Reed Blankenship, a graduate of West Limestone High School, is in his second Super Bowl for Philadelphia while Huntsville High’s Nick Morrow is making his first appearance – in his second stint with the Eagles.
Blankenship was undrafted out of Middle Tennessee State and signed with Philadelphia as a free agent after the 2022 NFL Draft.

Morrow also was undrafted and became the first Greenville (Ill.) University player to sign an NFL contract when he signed with the Oakland Raiders in 2017.
“You want as a player to be drafted,” Blankenship told Philly Voice. “You want to be, you know, the talk of the town. But the older I get, the more I realize, like, it doesn’t matter. There are a lot of undrafted players that are stars that have been playing for years. It’s all about having that chip on your shoulder.
“You put all the work in, in college, you think you’re going to get drafted, and you don’t. Then you have to go to mini-camp and you have to start all over again. You go from the top dog in college to the bottom of the pile. It seems like it’s always been that, ever since high school.
“You can get tired of doing that. It’s like, ‘Why is nobody paying attention to me?’ You can put the ‘Woe is me’ to the side and either put the work in, or not and go home.”
For Morrow, this is his seventh year in the NFL. Along with the Eagles (2023, 2024) and Raiders (2017-21), he’s played for Chicago Bears (2022) and Buffalo Bills (2024).
He was waived Jan. 2 by the Bills and, about two weeks later, Morrow signed back with Philadelphia to replace Nakobe Dean, whose season ended due to an injury.
He was elevated from the Eagles’ practice squad in time for the NFL playoffs.
Now, he’s on the biggest stage of the nation’s most popular sport.
