$73M Dean at Chase Creek coming to northeast Huntsville

HUNTSVILLE They see Huntsville as an emerging technology hub bringing a lot of young tech professionals and their families to North Alabama.

But, not all of them will prefer urban living over the suburbs and it’s those young tech professionals that developers believe will appreciate the Dean at Chase Creek with its modern, amenity-rich apartment living within seven minutes of downtown.

New Jersey-based Michaels Organization and joint venture partners, Albert Reuben Capital and ICV Rep, broke ground on the $73 million development in the Chase community. Built on 17.55 acres, Dean at Chase Creek will feature 336 apartments in three-story, garden-style walk-up buildings.

“Michaels is excited to bring this high-quality housing to Huntsville, where our residents can be close to major employment centers, retail, and cultural amenities,” said Michael Flanagan, executive vice president of development at the Michaels Organization.

Amenities include clubhouse and resort style pool with pavilion, grilling areas, electric car charging stations, dog wash and park, upscale fitness and agility rooms, conference rooms and collaboration spaces. Residents will also have the option to rent garages.

Michaels has owned apartment communities in Alabama for more than a decade, but the Dean at Chase Creek will be its first market-rate community and its first in the Huntsville area.

Seth Heller, managing partner at ARC, is a 26-year veteran real estate developer, private equity professional and he has financed, acquired, and managed more than $1.5 billion of real estate development. ARC is focused on development throughout the Southeast with a particular focus on Huntsville as a major technology hub.

Urban Practice is serving as the architects, Michaels Construction is the general contractor, and Michaels Management will serve as the property manager.

ICV Rep is the Chilean real estate branch of Inversiones Convento Viejo with development projects in Chile, Spain and the U.S.
