805 After Five with The Dirty Dozen Brass Band and Karmessa is rescheduled

HUNTSVILLE — The rain dampened the area last week but, according to Huntsville Music Officer Matt Mandrella, the excitement about the 805 After Five program with The Dirty Dozen Brass Band and Karmessa was not dampened.

With sunny skies in the forecast, the program has been rescheduled for Thursday, the Huntsville Music Office announced.

And, the city and Dowtown Huntsville Inc. will again offer free shuttle service to help concertgoers navigate limited parking near Campus 805.

The rescheduled event will include a special Juneteenth-themed celebration with Grammy-winning New Orleans legends The Dirty Dozen Brass Band, known for their electrifying blend of jazz, funk and R&B.

The soulful and always dynamic Karmessa will open the show, and Vertical House Records will start the evening with DJ sets beginning at 5 p.m. at Butler Green at Campus No. 805.

“Despite the wet conditions causing last week’s postponement, the weather couldn’t dampen the anticipation surrounding this 805 After Five,” Mandrella said. “We are thrilled that The Dirty Dozen Brass Band worked with us to reschedule so that Huntsville can enjoy this incredible show.”

Admission to 805 After Five is free and open to all ages. In addition to great music, attendees can enjoy delicious food and beverage options from Campus No. 805’s on-site venues and vendors.

To ease the parking worries, Thursday’s shuttles will run from 5-9 p.m. between Lot K, 620 Clinton Ave. W, and Campus 805 at 2620 Clinton Ave. W.
