Shoals, Huntsville bands among latest 805 After Five acts 

HUNTSVILLE – Think of the next 805 After Five concert as a small preview of the inaugural two-day South Star Festival arriving the first week of fall.

Downtown Huntsville Inc. and the Huntsville Music Office announced its next installments of the music series it co-host at Campus No. 805’s Butler Green Park, and the headliner for the next show will also appear at the South Star Festival Sept. 28-29.

Headlining the July 18 concert is touring band Billy Allen + The Pollies, who formed in Muscle Shoals and were afforded billing space on the South Star event poster. The opening act for the concert is The Wanda Band, a pop rock power trio from Huntsville.

According to the news release revealing the next 805 After Five acts, Billy Allen + The Pollies bring a unique blend of soulful rock and Americana to the stage, captivating audiences with their powerful performances and heartfelt lyrics. Known for their dynamic sound and engaging live shows, this Alabama-based band has built a strong following with their rich musical tapestry and compelling storytelling.

Taking the stage at the August 15 concert is Aaron Lee Tasjan and opening act Camping in Alaska. Aaron Lee Tasjan is a celebrated singer-songwriter known for his genre-defying style that blends rock, folk, and pop influences. His witty lyrics and eclectic sound have earned him critical acclaim and a dedicated fan base. Camping in Alaska is an American Midwest emo band from Huntsville.

805 After Five offers what it calls “an unparalleled experience every third Thursday from May to October. Each event features an electrifying concert by a touring act, delicious food vendors, local artisan vendors, interactive activities, giveaways, and refreshing beverages from Straight to Ale and Yellowhammer.”

The concert is free and is from 5-8 p.m. Free on-site parking is available, but attendees are encouraged to carpool, rideshare, or bike. A designated Rideshare Station, sponsored by Timberlake, League & Brooks, and a Downtown BlueBikes station are available for easy transportation.

805 After Five is a partnership between Downtown Huntsville, Inc. and Huntsville’s Music Office, supported by sponsors including Bold Agency, Campus 805, Fly Huntsville/Breeze Airways, Stella at Five Points, Google Fiber, Huntsville Hospital, Huntsville/Madison County Convention & Visitors Bureau, Huntsville Parks and Recreation, and Tangled String Studios.
