A haunting we will go! Rocket City has its share of things that go bump in the night

HUNTSVILLE — The Rocket City offers a variety of festive Halloween haunts to make your October spook-tacular. There are plenty of opportunities to show off those costumes, enjoy the fall atmosphere, or find a good fright.

Take a look at some of the family-friendly fun creeping in this October — if you dare.

  • Spooky Space Spectacular
    Trick-or-treat your way through the solar system with the U.S. Space & Rocket Center. The event features hands-on activities such as face painting, planet art, solar system bracelets and more for kids of all ages to enjoy. Come ready to party in costume for the indoor trick-or-treating with DJ Donopoly.
    Tickets are $10 per individual or $40 for a family of 5— ages 2 and under get in free. The event is 5-8 p.m. Oct. 26

  • Nerdy Trunk or Treat
    Take part in the inaugural Nerdy Trunk-or-Treat at Giga Parts, 6123 University Drive. Come in costume and enjoy the halloween festivities as you trick-or-treat from car to car. There will be a costume contest for guests aged 5 and up, voting for your favorite decorated car, live music and treats from three scoops ice cream truck.
    Join in the fun Oct. 9 from 5-8 p.m. Admission is free but donations to the food drive are encouraged to support local food banks.
  • Huntsville Police and Huntsville Parks and Rec Halloween Party
    The Huntsville Police Department and the city’s Parks and Recreation host a Halloween Party at the Orion Amphitheater on Oct. 27 from 4-9 p.m. Children are encouraged to wear their Halloween costumes and enjoy the festive fun for this free event.
    Enjoy trunk-or-treating, bounce houses, family-friendly entertainment, carnival games and food trucks. A haunted house opens its doors at 6 p.m.
  • Toyota Field Fall Festival
    Toyota Field in Madison hosts its annual Fall Festival on Oct. 26. There is trick-or-treating from 5-7 p.m. with a showing of the movie “Casper” at 7:15 p.m.
    Admission is $10 for ages 13 and up and free for ages 12 and under.
  • Fright Nights at Wicks Family Field
    Join Theatre Huntsville for Fright Nights at Wicks Family Field. Starting Oct. 24, guests can enjoy the haunted spaces featuring roaming spooky characters, horror movies on the jumbo screen, Boo-tiful photo opps and more. The event gets spookier the darker it gets, making it fun for all ages at different times of the night.
    Adults can also join for the weekend’s Wicked Dance Party. Tickets cost $15 each. The event runs Oct. 24-26, Oct. 31 and Nov. 1-2. 
  • MidCity Monster Mash at The Camp
    The Camp hosts a Monster Mash from Oct. 11-31 from noon-11 p.m. The celebrations include Halloween themed drink specials, spook photo opportunities and even some monsters haunting The Camp.
    There will be live music on the weekends, costume parties and the Fall Market every Sunday. 

Whether you want to celebrate with tricks or treats, Huntsville is the place to be this Halloween.
