A tea party and all that jazz in Constitution Park

HUNTSVILLE — What better way to wind down a patriotic holiday week than to cap it off with tea and jazz in Constitution Park?

Tonight is Jazz Night at Piper and Leaf Tea Co. in downtown Huntsville. The evening features two modern jazz styles in an intimate listening room setting.

This year also marks  the 250th anniversary of the Boston Tea Party but don’t expect anyone to be tossing crates of tea into the river. Instead, visitors can enjoy a wide selection of fresh whole leaf teas and coffee all evening from Piper and Leaf.

The music begins at 7 p.m. with Tyler Bennett putting a little indie-pop twist on traditional jazz changes, followed by Josh Couts and his band. Clouts will take listeners through a set of original instrumental jazz tunes to show he’s got the chops.

Piper & Leaf has plenty of seating and free Wi-Fi. There is outdoor space for the “kids” to romp and play, too, in the newly renovated historical park.

Tickets to the tea and jazz are $20 and include one free refill of the first cup or jar of tea. Click here to purchase tickets.
