Abracadabra! Steve Miller Band to headline Huntsville Hospital Foundation concert

HUNTSVILLE — Don’t be a joker, just take the money and run to the Orion Amphitheater for a benefit concert that will keep on rock’n you.

You won’t need to fly like an eagle or take a big ol’ jet airliner either because the Steve Miller Band is headlining the Huntsville Classic in May at the Orion Amphitheater.

The 35th annual event benefits the pediatrics department at not-for-profit Huntsville Hospital for Women & Children through Huntsville Hospital Foundation.

The show is May 18 and tickets go on sale Friday via theorionhuntsville.com. Prices range from $39 up to $150. VIP concert seats and benefits are also available for event sponsors. For information about sponsor opportunities, contact [email protected].

“This investment will truly help us serve the whole pediatric patient by meeting their physical and emotional needs” said Huntsville Hospital Foundation President Sarah Savage-Jones. “By purchasing a concert ticket, you are helping ensure our local, public hospital can continue providing world-class care to kids from across North Alabama, from NICU infants to teenagers.”

The Steve Miller Band is known for its distinctive catalog that dominated radio in the mid-to-late ’70s. Its “Greatest Hits 1974-78” compilation album received the Recording Industry Association of America’s Diamond Award with sales of more than 15 million copies and is among the top 25 best-selling albums of all time.

The legendary group’s hits include, “The Joker,” “Rock’n Me,” “Fly Like an Eagle,” “Abracadabra,” and “Take the Money and Run.”

The 2024 Huntsville Classic is co-chaired by Christine and Mike Wicks, and made possible by the generosity of top sponsors Wicks Family Foundation and Robins & Morton. The event is a Hendley Group production.
