Ach du lieber! Triple fest at Rocket Center – birthday, St. Patrick and Biergarten

HUNTSVILLE – “Ich hab voll Bock auf Bier.”

Yes, a lot of people will be up for a beer this month at one of the U.S. Space & Rocket Center’s most festive activities.

Biergarten season is rocketing to a start at the Davidson Center for Space Exploration March 16 and runs weekly until Octoberfest.

Poured with triple froth this season, the Rocket Center also celebrates its 53rd birthday and St. Patrick’s Day, all in one night. The event honors Huntsville’s German legacy of Dr. Wernher von Braun and his German rocket scientists, who arrived in Huntsville during the 1950s and transformed the sleepy cotton town into a pioneer of space exploration.

Now, the opening of Biergarten season, along with the birthday festivities, welcome a special massive monster truck from the Monster Jam tour coming to Huntsville.

The new Huntsville City Football Club will also be on hand to make a special announcement about its first season in the Rocket City.

As always, Biergarten features authentic German food, imported brews and live music.

This season, the Rocket Center is excited to bring back its partnership with local charities. Non-profits may apply to take part in Biergarten and to receive a portion of the proceeds from their designated evening by clicking here.

Biergarten hours are 4:30 to 7:30 p.m.

Admission is $5 per person ages five years and up. Children 4 and under are free.

Genießen sie ihr bier (“Enjoy your beer)!
