HUNTSVILLE — Alabama A&M lost in the semifinals of the Southwestern Athletic Conference men’s basketball tournament this past weekend, but the Bulldogs’ season is not yet over.

The Govs are 2-0 in the all-time series, winning 67-47 in Clarksville, Tenn. in 2017 and 73-61 in Huntsville the following year.

Alabama A&M (11-22) reached the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) semifinals for the second straight year. The Bulldogs knocked off the second seed in the tournament, Alcorn State, before falling in the semifinals to third seed Texas Southern. A&M’s Lorenzo Downey was named to the five-man all-tournament team.

Austin Peay (19-15) fell just short, a 94-91 loss to Stetson in the Atlantic Sun Championship game March 10.
