NORMAL — Supporting their commitment to service in the community, the Alabama A&M University women’s basketball team is holding its second annual toiletry drive this weekend.

The annual drive will be held in conjunction with a meet & greet with the team, head women’s basketball coach Dawn Thornton announced.

“We are committed to serving more than just our team, we’re here to support our community,” Thornton said. “This toiletry drive is one way we can give back and stand alongside those in need, because we believe we are stronger when we uplift one another.

“Championship culture starts with character, and we are dedicated to showing up for our community the same way we show up for each other- with our heart, hustle and service. We invite our Bulldog family and the entire community to join us in making a difference.”

The toiletry drive is set from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday at the AAMU Event Center. Items to donate include toiletries, toothbrushes, toothpaste, floss, feminine hygiene products, shampoo, conditioner, soap, deodorant and hand sanitizer. Additional donations will also be accepted.
