ALGOP announces qualifying for House District 10 special election

HUNTSVILLE — If you’re a resident of Alabama’s House District 10 and want to run for public office, the Alabama Republican Party has an opportunity for you.

The party has set Monday as the opening for qualifying for the upcoming Special Election. Republicans interested in running for this open seat must file with the party between 8:30 a.m. Monday and 5 p.m. Oct. 10.

The seat in House District 10 – which covers a portion of Madison County – became vacant following the resignation of former State Rep. David Cole, who pleaded guilty to voter fraud charges.

To qualify for the Republican ballot, click here or visit ALGOP headquarters at 3505 Lorna Road in Birmingham during the qualifying period.

The Special Election Primary for the seat will be Dec. 12; a run-off election, if needed, will be Jan. 9, 2024. The Special General Election is scheduled for March 26, 2024.
