Athens Buc-ee’s hosting 3-day hiring event in Decatur

ATHENS — It seems that everything is big with Buc-ee’s – including its hiring event.

Instead of the normal one-day hiring event used by a lot of businesses, the retail store giant is holding a three-day event for its soon-to-open Athens store.  The hiring event is 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. today through Thursday at the DoubleTree Hilton Hotel on 6th Avenue in Decatur.

The 53,000 square-foot Athens Buc-ee’s is at the Huntsville-Brownsferry Road interchange of I-65 and is expected to create 250 jobs. This is the third Buc-ee’s in Alabama for the Texas-based convenience store chain.

Buc-ee’s offers starting pay ranging between $17 and $22 an hour, full benefits, a 6% matching 401k, and three weeks of paid vacation.

Buc-ee’s is known for its 120 gas pumps, fresh brisket, jerky, snacks, and an eclectic variety of gifts and t-shirts.
