Athens-Limestone County Chamber recognizes inaugural Best Places to Work winners

ATHENS – Cited as “shining examples,” six businesses in Limestone County were recognized as the Best Places to Work.

This week’s event was the inaugural competition by the the Athens-Limestone County Chamber of Commerce.

The businesses emerged from a pool of applicants in all fields, sizes, and cultures to take the top spots.

“The Best Places to Work winners in Athens-Limestone County are shining examples of what it means to invest in people,” said Athens-Limestone Chamber President/CEO Pammie Jimmar. “Their commitment to creating positive, engaging, and forward-thinking workplaces strengthens not only their teams but our entire community.”

The winners are

  • Athens-Limestone Hospital
  • Bryant Bank
  • First National Bank
  • Mauldin & Jenkins
  • McCurry Van & Car Rental
  • Pepsi Cola Decatur

Best Places to Work is a nationally recognized competition, facilitated by Quantum Workplace, that evaluates companies based on employee satisfaction surveys. After the open nominating process, eligible companies are asked to complete a specified number
of surveys – which employees are encouraged, but not required to do – to be eligible for
the competition.

The survey covers topics such as workplace culture, employee engagement, competitive compensation/benefit analysis and more. After all surveys are complete, companies receive a brief analysis of the findings with the option to dive deeper into the results.

The highest scoring companies compete to determine the Best Places to Work in each region and winners receive a badge of honor, joining the network of highly regarded Best Places to Work across the nation. This process provides winning companies data-supported evidence of strong employee retention and the ability to attract highly qualified future candidates.

“We are proud to celebrate these businesses that are setting the standard for excellence
in Athens-Limestone County,” Jimmar said.

An award luncheon next month will formally celebrate the winners.
