ATHENS – Athens Main Street launched their Main Street Brand Ambassadors program Friday.

Brand ambassadors spend the year capturing unique and authentic experiences in the downtown area. Their efforts showcase merchants, restaurants, events, and suggest unique experiences only downtown insiders know.

The purpose of Athens Main Street is to enhance downtown vibrancy and preserve its historic charm while empowering Athens’ business owners and fostering a center of activity for the community.

The ambassadors consist of a diverse group of high school students, parents, young professionals, and business owners.

“Our brand ambassador program involves forming partnerships with people who love downtown Athens and want to share all the great things there are to experience in our historic, lovely city,” said Athens Main Street Executive Director Tere Richardson.

Having all of Limestone County represented by an ambassador is key to the program.
