Athens State wins grant to fund Fiddlers Concert Series

ATHENS Athens State University has received a $12,000 grant from the Alabama State Council on the Arts to fund the 2025 Fiddlers Concert Series, a year-long series of bluegrass concerts that coordinates with the annual Tennessee Valley Old Time Fiddlers Convention.

With these funds, Athens State will be able to secure top-notch bluegrass talent to allow music enthusiasts to enjoy the sounds of old-time music throughout the year. The grant signifies that through this project, Athens State is making Alabama’s communities stronger and our state’s arts and culture sector more vibrant.
