Bank Independent groundbreaking called a reinvestment in Hartselle

HARTSELLE – Finding a more visible location to meet a growing demand for services, Bank Independent and city officials broke ground this week for a sales office.

“We are excited about reinvesting in Hartselle,” said Bank Independent CEO Macke Mauldin. “With this new facility, we are reaffirming our commitment to the people and businesses that make Hartselle so special. Our goal is to serve the communities we are in and make a positive difference in those same communities.

“And we’re thrilled to be able to do that in Hartselle.”

The current office was built in 1980 by New Community Bank and Trust and became part of the Bank Independent portfolio through the Colonial Bank acquisition in November 2005.

After 20 years of serving Hartselle there, bank officials decided to build a purpose-designed sales office at a more visible and accessible site. The new location at 1211 U.S. 31 near Walmart was deemed ideal for long-term growth and community engagement.

“I’m very excited to see Bank Independent building a new sales office and am excited to celebrate the groundbreaking that’s happening this morning,” Hartselle Mayor Randy Garrison said. “Bank Independent has been a community partner for many years and it’s great to see them reinvest in the city.”

Along with the mayor, Bank Independent officials joined the Hartselle Chamber of Commerce to celebrate Tuesday’s groundbreaking. Construction on the 3,800 square-foot office is scheduled to be completed in the latter half of 2026.

For the project, the architect is Lambert, Ezell, Durham; Fite Building is the general contractor; Shoals Engineering is electrical engineering; MDS Mechanical is mechanical engineer; LBYD is structural engineer; Pugh Wright McAnally is civil engineer; Bostick Landscape Architects is landscaping; and the geotechnical engineer is Building & Earth.
