Bank Independent launches 13th annual Toy Drive

SHEFFIELD – Bank Independent has kicked off its 13th annual Toy Share drive for area children.

Through Dec. 8, the bank will accept donations of new, unwrapped toys at all Bank Independent locations. Monetary donations will also be accepted through PayPal.

All items will be distributed to local children in need through partner organizations across North Alabama.

“Over the years, the Bank Independent Toy Share drive has brought smiles to countless children’s faces and helped families in need during the holiday season,” said Macke Mauldin, president and CEO of BancIndependent. “The donations received through Toy Drive have supported our partner organizations in their mission to support families in need across our footprint.

“This year, with your support, we hope to make an even greater impact in the communities that we serve.”

In 2022, the Toy Share initiative of the bank collected 3,661 toys and donated $1,278 in cash to local partner organizations. Over the last 12 years, Toy Share has gathered more than $45,000 in cash donations and has had a financial impact of more than $1 million in our communities.

“We are excited to announce the beginning of our 13th annual Toy Drive,” said Hallie Mauldin, Community Engagement Leader at Bank Independent. “With your assistance, we can make this holiday season special for children in our communities who may not have the opportunity otherwise. Your donation, regardless of size, will help ensure that every child has something special to open on Christmas morning.

“We will accept monetary donations through Paypal, and we have also created an Amazon Wishlist with pre-selected gift ideas for infants, children, and teenagers.”

Toy Share donation and shopping links can be found at www.bibank.com/help. Charitable organizations distributing Toy Share donations include the DHR of Franklin County, DHR of Lawrence County, Angel Tree Program with Lexington High School, DHR of Limestone County, Christmas Charities Year-Round of Madison County, Committee on Church Cooperation of Morgan County, William Porter Foundation in the Shoals, Shoals CASA, Safeplace of the Shoals, North Alabama Christian Children’s Home and the Rogersville Volunteer Fire Department.

Toy Share is the last of four annual Share drives hosted by Bank Independent in 2023 to give back to the community as part of Bank Independent’s Helping Hands Foundation.
