Huntsville-based Phoenix has been awarded an $11.7 million federal contract to provide access control, badging and mail services at Redstone Arsenal.
According to the U.S. Army Contracting Command, Phoenix, formally known as the Huntsville Rehabilitation Foundation, received an $11,738,265 firm-fixed-price contract. Work will be performed at Redstone Arsenal with an estimated completion date of June 30, 2026.
The contract was awarded after one bid was received through an online solicitation. Fiscal 2026 Army research, development, test and evaluation funds totaling $11.7 million were obligated at the time of the award.
Founded in 1973 as the Huntsville Rehabilitation Foundation, Phoenix is a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping individuals with disabilities enter, remain in and return to the workforce. The organization partners with the Alabama Department of Rehabilitation Services to provide employment and vocational services.
Phoenix provides services to more than 1,200 people with disabilities each year and employs more than 800 people, with annual wages and benefits totaling more than $39 million. The organization also reports an annual community return of approximately $3 million and provides employment opportunities for people with disabilities across seven states, including Alabama, Alaska, California, Colorado, New Mexico, Texas and Virginia.
Phoenix is governed by a volunteer board of directors made up of local business, professional and civic leaders and operates as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
