Bank Independent launching annual Toy Share drive

SHEFFIELD – Once they break out the toys, you know Santa is beginning to pack his sleigh. And Bank Independent is working with North Alabama communities to make sure no child gets left out this Christmas.

Bank Independent’s 12th annual Toy Share drive launches Nov. 10 and, through Dec. 2, donations of new, unwrapped toys will be accepted at any Bank Independent location.

The bank will also offer the option of monetary donations through PayPal and Amazon shopping “Wishlist.”

All donations will be distributed through partner organizations to local children in need across North Alabama.

“As our friends and neighbors emerge from the previous months, their generosity to the community helps lessen the impact of the pandemic on local families,” said Macke Mauldin, president of Bank Independent. “Our partner charitable organizations work tirelessly throughout the year to reach families in need.

“The hopes for the 2022 Bank Independent Toy Share drive are to help these vital organizations continue their mission and to make Christmas morning brighter for everyone.”

In 2021, Bank Independent’s Toy Share drive provided more than 4,100 toys and nearly $2,000 in cash donations to partner organizations in time for Christmas delivery to local families.

This year’s partner organizations include the DHR of Franklin County, Cornerstone Church, the Angel Tree Program with Lexington High School, DHR of Limestone County, Christmas Charities Year-Round, Committee on Church Cooperation, William Porter Foundation, Shoals CASA, Safeplace of the Shoals, North Alabama Christian Children’s Home, and the Rogersville Fire Department.

To celebrate awarding $11,000 to seven winners during its Seven Weeks of Winning and Giving sweepstakes, Bank Independent donates an additional $11,000 to Toy Share partner organizations.

“Bank Independent is very excited to launch our 12th annual toy drive,” said Bank Independent Community Engagement Leader Hallie Mauldin. “This is one of our favorite events that we get to participate in to give back to the communities that we serve.”
