Chill out! Huntsville Parks & Recreation to host winter break camps

HUNTSVILLE – The holiday rush is on its way and Huntsville Parks & Recreation has the perfect way for Huntsville City School students to chill out and have fun during winter break.

Parks & Recreation will offer winter break camps at Cavalry Hill Community Center and Mark Russell Recreation Center from Dec. 22-24. Camps will run from 8 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. on Dec. 22-23 and from 8 a.m. until noon on Dec. 24.

“Winter break camps are something we look forward to offering each year,” said Huntsville Parks and Recreation Director James Gossett. “We understand that the holidays are a busy time for parents. We are happy to provide a safe place for their children while they are away from school.”

Each location will offer engaging activities to keep campers active and entertained. Activities may include arts and crafts, recreational games, movie time, snacks and more.

The cost for winter break camps is $15 for the first child and $10 for up to three additional siblings. Camps are reserved for Huntsville City School students in grades 1-6.

Online registration for winter break camps will open Monday at 8 a.m. through Parks & Recreation’s online registration platform.
