HUNTSVILLE — Church of the Highlands has launched its second location in the Huntsville area.

With a campus building under construction on Whitesburg Drive in South Huntsville, the church opened services at AMC Valley Bend 18 on Four Mile Post Road in South Huntsville.

This location joins Highlands’ location in Madison, which opened in 2019. The new Huntsville campus is Highlands’ 25th location across Alabama and Georgia.

Highlands’ Huntsville location is a portable location with plans to move into the new building next spring. Services are Sundays at 8 a.m. and 9:45.

Of Church of the Highlands’ 25 locations, 11 are portable locations meeting in schools, community centers, and now its first movie theater in Huntsville. Portable campuses have teams of volunteers, called Dream Teams, that set up and take down everything needed for church every Sunday.

Church of the Highlands began as a portable church in Mountain Brook High School in Birmingham in 2001 and has followed this model when starting locations.
