MADISON — The plans have been drawn up and the red earth is waiting.

The next step for Clift Farm is the building of its clubhouse – Clift Hall, likened to a “meeting hall or town hall,” according to Joey Ceci, president of The Breland Cos., the developer of the Clift Farm community on U.S. 72.

The clubhouse will include a catering kitchen for events and can accommodate more than 200 people for meetings/receptions, Ceci said.

It will also feature a room dedicated to the history of the Clift family and the land that is Clift Farm including videos shot with Jack Clift, he said.

“He was ahead of his time in farming,” Ceci said. “He was always first one to implement the new strategy – crop rotation, covered crops …

“Even a motorized tractor.”

Clift Hall will complement the growing development and is expected to be open within a year, Ceci said.

“It will be the centerpiece of the community,” he said. “We’re trying to go one notch above.”

The building will measure more than 5,000 square feet, including the 2,950 square-foot clubhouse and a 2,200 square-foot fitness center. The centerpiece is a resort style pool with in-pool lounge chairs.

“The clubhouse and fitness center will also have large sitting porches to help replicate the small town feel we are creating at Clift Farm,” Ceci said. “This kind of kicks off the amenities part of it.”
