Color Jam returns for Huntsville’s Parks and Recreation Month

HUNTSVILLE – Lace up your sneakers and prepare for a burst of color at the Color Jam Family Fun Run & Walk this weekend.

This free untimed, all-ages event promises to be a multihued highlight of the summer, welcoming families to enjoy a vibrant experience filled with laughter, fitness, community spirit and plenty of color.

It all takes place Saturday from 8-11 a.m. at John Hunt Park.

Runners and walkers will travel the radiant paved course near the John Hunt Park Festival Grounds and be playfully showered with vivid powders. The event also features giveaways, a grooving dance party and concessions available for purchase.

After the fun, attendees can cool down at the fire truck rinse-off station, courtesy of Huntsville Fire & Rescue.

“Color Jam is one of the main events in our celebration of Parks and Recreation Month in July,” said Huntsville Parks & Recreation Director James Gossett. “This event brings families together in the most colorful way possible. It’s a celebration of fun, movement and community, and we can’t wait to see everyone out at John Hunt Park.”

Participants are encouraged to wear white with neon accessories to enhance their experience. They should also wear comfortable shoes and clothes suitable for liquids and powders.

Register online here and check-in as well as onsite registration will start at 8 a.m. The run begins at 9 a.m.
