COLSA to feature drones, AI-enabled SwA at National Cyber Summit

HUNTSVILLE — Along with the Cyber Job Fair and Cyber Cup Challenge, the National Cyber Summit will also feature the latest technology from local and national companies.

Huntsville-based COLSA is among those attending and will exhibit a pair of initiatives at the summit. COLSA is also one of the summit’s sponsors.

The 16fth annual National Cyber Summit, hosted by the North Alabama Chapter of the Information Systems Security Association and Cyber Huntsville, is Sept. 23-25 at the Von Braun Center.

Attendees can explore career opportunities at the Cyber Job Fair, test their skills in the Cyber Cup Challenge, connect with innovators through the Workforce Development Program for K-12 STEM educators, gain exclusive insights in classified cyber sessions, and hear from nationally recognized keynote speakers.

“COLSA historically has been known for our cyber expertise, and since we’re headquartered in Huntsville, we see National Cyber Summit as the top conference of the year to attend,” said Mike Ledbetter, executive vice president/COO at COLSA. “As our company grows and the Huntsville area grows, we aim to hone our mission-driven solutions to better serve our customers, and NCS is one of the best events for fostering innovative collaboration.”

COLSA will showcase two initiatives in their booth. The first initiative pertains to a new commercial Uncrewed Systems program operating from COLSA’s manufacturing facility in Huntsville which provides a full suite of design, development, and manufacturing tools. The company launched two drones this year – Crest and Talon – and they will be on display.

The drones are able to gather and analyze data rapidly, deliver aid to remote areas, detect issues in infrastructure, surveil trespassers, and go further than humans can go, COLSA said.

The Uncrewed Systems provide surveillance, agricultural analysis, firefighting, disaster response, search and rescue, basic aerial photography, video, and much more.

The second initiative includes an AI-enabled Software Assurance (SwA) tool called Alpine with a tiered framework that provides rapid, high-fidelity code reviews during sprint cycles. The tool reduces false positives, integrates into existing DevSecOps environments, and enables actionable, AI-driven risk scoring.

U.S. government and military attendees will receive free access to the full conference.  Industry, academia (teachers/faculty/students), and civilians will receive a range of varying access that can be found on the event website along with rates.
