HUNTSVILLE — Each year during the holiday season, a group of Huntsville companies supports local nonprofits in the Huntsville area with significant grant funding.
The network of businesses first formed in 2019, awarded just over $200,000 in its opening year. Since then, the network has distributed more than $10 million in contributions to the community.
At an event to celebrate Giving Tuesday, the Community Foundation of Greater Huntsville’s Corporate Giving Network issued grant announcements totaling more than $2 million to 189 non-profit organizations.
“Giving Tuesday is a powerful reminder of the impact we make when we come together to mobilize generosity,” said Melissa Thompson, CEO of the Community Foundation of Greater Huntsville. “Our annual Giving Tuesday event is a testament to the power of corporate philanthropy and community collaboration. With over $2 million in grants announced, this event highlights the critical support provided by corporate partners and funders to enhance the quality of life in the Huntsville metropolitan area.”
Nonprofits from Madison, Morgan, Marshall, Jackson, and Limestone counties benefited from grants or contributions made through the Corporate Giving Network.
“The celebration of generosity and commitment from the business community not only strengthens local nonprofits but also builds a more resilient and vibrant community,” Thompson said. “Together, the Corporate Giving Network and the Community Foundation continue to drive meaningful change and foster a culture of generosity that benefits all residents.”
