U.S. Rep. Mike Rogers (R-Saks) has filed qualifying paperwork to seek re-election in 2026, continuing a congressional career that spans more than two decades representing Alabama’s 3rd Congressional District.
In a statement released after filing, Rogers thanked constituents for their support and highlighted his alignment with President Donald Trump, who has endorsed his campaign.
“I want to thank the constituents of Alabama’s third district for their continued faith in me to represent them in Washington,” Rogers said. “I’d also like to thank President Trump for his early and strong endorsement. I am very grateful for his trust in me to champion and help pass his peace through strength agenda in Washington. Throughout the next two years we must complete what we started under President Trump. We must close our borders, protect the unborn, unleash American energy, and grow our economy.”
Rogers has represented the district since 2003, making him one of Alabama’s longest-serving members of Congress.
A sixth-generation East Alabamian and former attorney, he currently serves as chairman of the House Armed Services Committee, which oversees defense policy and military funding. He has previously held leadership roles on the Armed Services and Homeland Security committees.
Rogers also played a visible role in efforts to relocate U.S. Space Command headquarters to Huntsville’s Redstone Arsenal, aligning with his focus on defense and space initiatives tied to Alabama’s economy and national security.
