HUNTSVILLE — Crestwood Medical Center has named Garett May, a veteran health care executive and administrator from Mississippi, as its chief operating officer. He will take over the position April 20.
“Garett brings strong leadership, business development, and physician recruitment skills to our team and I am confident that his expertise will help enhance and grow our organization as we continue our commitment to quality care and more access to care for our patients and the community,” said CEO Matthew Banks. “His energy and passion are contagious and we are looking forward to what he will bring to our organization.”
May comes to Crestwood from Merit Health Natchez where he has served as CEO since August 2021, leading the organization through steady growth for the emergency room, operating room, outpatient services, and transfer center.
Prior to that, he served as assistant CEO and COO at Merit Health River Oaks in Flowood, Miss., and assistant administrator at Merit Health River Region in Vicksburg, Miss.
He was also director of Risk Management at Merit Health Central in Jackson, Miss.
May earned his bachelor of science and master’s in business administration from Mississippi College and his Doctor of Jurisprudence from Mississippi School of Law.
