TUSCUMBIA – Gardiner Farms in Tuscumbia has been welcoming crowds to its 3,000 acres of riding trails and benefit shows for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis since 1996. This year marks the 29th annual Northwest Alabama Saddle-Up for St. Jude Trail Ride and Concert.
The event runs July 17-19 and begins noon July 17 when the farm opens for primitive camping.
Saddle Up for St. Jude started when the children’s research hospital reached out to Jimmy King, a horse and cattle rancher from Leighton, about starting a local fundraiser, according to the event’s website. King agreed to coordinate the event and, since then, the event has raised more than $4 million over the past 28 years.

St. Jude treats pediatric cancer patients and, because of events such as Saddle Up for St. Jude, their families never receive a bill for services.
This year’s entertainment features Deana Carter, T. Graham Brown, and Easton Corbin. An auction is set for July 19 and vendors will have plenty of food and drink on hand to quench your thirst and satisfy your hunger all weekend.
Carter, who rose to fame with her hit “Strawberry Wine” and “We Danced Anyway,” will headline opening night. Brown, known for “I Tell It Like It Used To Be” and “Hell and High Water,” is the Friday night feature. And Saturday brings Easton Corbin and his No. 1 hits “A Little More Country Than That” and “Roll With It” to the main stage.
Three-night tickets are $60 per person. Thursday or Friday tickets are $20 per person per night, and Saturday tickets are $40 per person.
All tickets can be purchased at the gate or at local locations of Singing River dentistry offices. Or click this link https://www.eventbrite.com/e/saddle-up-for-st-jude-concert-tickets-909979672697
“Bring your lawn chair and a thankful heart as we join in our tradition of supporting the best of causes – fundraising for St Jude,” said founder Jimmy King.
All profits go to St. Jude Hospital for Children.
