Dirt is moving on industrial development in Huntsville-annexed Limestone County

HUNTSVILLE — Halstatt Real Estate Partners has broken ground on an industrial development in Limestone County annexed to Huntsville. The two light industrial buildings on Bibb Garrett Road total more than 300,000 square feet.

The property is within the rapidly expanding Greenbrier submarket, home to several Fortune 500 companies. The site is also near major transportation routes and benefits from its proximity to the I-65/I-565 corridor.

Halstatt has partnered on the development with CA South, a Nashville real estate development and investment management firm.

Peggy Lamb, principal of Halstatt Real Estate Partners, said Huntsville’s recent designation by US News and World Report as the Best Place to Live for 2022 is an important factor in their investment. She said it shows the vitality and versatility of the location to the small business community and to residential communities.

“We are seeing demand for light industrial space across the market as companies continue to address trends in e-commerce, reshoring and changing consumer preferences,” Lamb said. “We are proud to be a woman-owned and led firm and are thrilled to partner with a fellow woman-owned and led firm.

“We look forward to working with Meg and CA South, to bring this much-needed project to market.”

The new buildings have the flexibility to be divided into seven units of approximately 43,000 square feet each, with 32-foot clearing heights, 60-foot speed bays, and 130-foot truck courts. Additionally, the buildings’ parking includes 390 car spaces, and 30 trailer spaces.

“We are excited to partner with Halstatt on this much-needed product type created specifically for small businesses who are the backbone of our economy and country,” said Meg Epstein, CEO of CA South. “The building will be both highly functional and well-designed, something not typical of industrial projects.”
