ATHENS — Things are growing and building in Limestone County, so it’s fitting that the Home and Garden Show returns.

After a hiatus amplified by the pandemic, the Athens-Limestone County Chamber Board of Directors brought back the popular event for this weekend.

“We are proud to bring this event back to the Athens-Limestone County community from the COVID-19 pandemic,” said Pammie Jimmar, president of the Athens-Limestone County Chamber. “The safety and well-being of everyone is of the utmost importance to the organizers.

The show will be Friday through Sunday in Athens State’s Carter Gymnasium. The hours are Friday, 4-8 p.m.; Saturday, 8 a.m.-4 p.m.; and Sunday, noon to 4 p.m. Tickets are available at the door for $5 (cash only) and free for kids under 12.

“As the fastest growing county in the state of Alabama, it’s important that people know about our local home improvement businesses that are in Athens-Limestone County,” said Jimmar. “We hope that the show will inspire attendees to remodel or renovate their living space and allow them to connect with the experts.”

Vendors will be exhibiting services from lighting to home decor to contractors to real estate and more. Everything needed to transform the home this spring will be on display, while supporting local businesses and visiting with friends and family.

“This show is a way that the Athens-Limestone County Chamber engages with the community,” Jimmar said. “We look forward to seeing everybody this weekend.”
