The Limestone County Economic Development Association will host a regional hiring event Tuesday, bringing together job seekers and employers from across North Alabama.

The Career Connect Hiring Event is scheduled for April 21 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Alabama Veterans Museum and Archives.

Organizers say approximately 20 employers will be on site, offering opportunities for networking, learning about open positions and participating in on-site interviews.

The event is being held in partnership with Athens State University, the Limestone County Department of Human Resources A-RESET program, the Athens Career Center and AIDT.

Participating employers include a range of public and private sector organizations such as the Alabama Department of Transportation, Athens-Limestone Hospital and Cintas, among others.

A central feature of the event is the Career Connect platform, which allows job seekers to create digital resumes, apply for positions and connect with employers before and after the event.

Job seekers are encouraged, though not required, to pre-register online. Attendees who register will have their resumes printed on site and can continue to communicate with employers through the platform following the event.

“One of our top priorities is strengthening the local workforce by helping more people enter or re-enter the labor market,” said Limestone County Economic Development Association President and CEO Bethany Shockney. “This hiring event gives us a real opportunity to increase labor force participation and match job seekers with employers who are ready to hire.”

A wide range of Limestone County and North Alabama organizations are participating, including the Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT), Athens State University, Athens-Limestone Hospital, Aviagen, Carpenter Technologies, Cast Products, CB&S Bank, Cintas, Claborn Manufacturing, Custom Assembly, Inc. / MCK Trucking, Inc., EFI Automotive – Electricfil Corporation, Grayson Carter & Son Contracting, Inc., Huntsville City Schools, Limestone County Schools, Matthews Industries, Inc., North Central Alabama Regional Council of Governments (NARCOG), Scout Pest Control, Inc., The Mental Health Center of North Central Alabama, Inc., Window World of Huntsville, and Y-tec Keylex Toyotetsu Alabama (YKTA).

Employers can also register through the platform at no cost, allowing them to post open positions and access applicant resumes through a secure dashboard.
