HUNTSVILLE – The on-court action may be about 1,000 miles away in San Antonio, but college basketball fans are invited to downtown Huntsville this weekend for “Final Four at the Court,” an outdoor watch party and block party.

Downtown Huntsville Inc. and the Huntsville Hardwood Club are teaming up for the free event Saturday from 3-10 p.m. Fans are encouraged to bring a comfortable chair and enjoy an unforgettable evening of hoops, community, and local flavor.

With Auburn the top seed in the tournament and taking on SEC foe Florida, the energy is sure to be high.

“This event is a great opportunity to celebrate the success of Alabama’s college basketball programs right in the heart of downtown,” said Rob Buddo, president and CEO of Downtown Huntsville, Inc. “While I’m disappointed we won’t get to watch the Crimson Tide in this year’s Final Four, I’m thrilled to see Auburn representing our state.”

Sponsored by Martinson & Beason, Southern States Bank, and the Huntsville Sports Commission, Northside Square will transform into a basketball fan zone, complete with a giant LED screen showing the games, outdoor games and activities, and food and drink specials from some of downtown Huntsville’s restaurants and breweries.

“There’s no better way to join the madness than by coming together for a free community watch party downtown,” said Buddo. “We encourage everyone to come out Saturday evening, enjoy the games, and support our amazing downtown businesses.”
