HUNTSVILLE — With a target to fight homelessness, Downtown Rescue Mission is once again hosting its Shoot for Shelter Clay Shooting Tournament.
The mission, which served 442,070 meals and distributed 3,939 food boxes in 2024, is facing depleted shelves due to an increased demand for services. The annual fundraiser will help replenish the shelves and provide recovery services and care.
The tournament offers opportunities to register individually or as part of a team to win prizes. A steak lunch from Outback Steakhouse will be included and sponsorship opportunities are available.
To register, visit shootforshelter.org. For information, visit downtownrescuemission.org.
The tournament is Oct. 24 with a 7 a.m. shotgun start at Old South Clays, 27246 Wooley Springs Road in Athens.
Downtown Rescue Mission is a lifeline for neighbors in crisis, providing daily meals and emergency shelter 24/7. In addition to meals and shelter, the mission offers life transformation programs, medical care and outreach to men, women and children in our community.
A non-profit serving as a lighthouse for the homeless in North Alabama since 1975, the mission provides emergency shelter, warm meals, medical services, biblically based life recovery programs and more to those in need within the community.
