HUNTSVILLE – There will be jazz, jazz, and more jazz, along with some R&B and food trucks for the second annual Jazz in the Garden showcase and scholarship fundraiser at Drake State Community & Technical College.
This year’s gala is also the featured event for the Alabama Community College System’s 60th anniversary Diamond Jubilee.
“Drake State is one 24 community and technical colleges throughout the state bringing you a diverse range of events, from cultural art to music and education,” said Drake State President Dr. Patricia Sims. “Jazz in the Garden is our annual fundraiser, where we come together as a community to support our students.
“With rising costs, we believe it is our duty to empower students and with the resources they need to succeed.”
Kayoband featuring Kelley O’Neal is back as the headliner; Devere Pride, the Huntsville Drumline, and Nina Marie Live are opening acts.
The evening of fun, food and tunes on June 23 starts at 6 p.m.; gates open at 5 p.m.
