Dynetics Technical Solutions nabs $8.4M welding contract from Navy

HUNTSVILLE — With the largest electron beam welding system in the Western Hemisphere at its Huntsville headquarters, Dynetics Technical Solutions recently received an $8.4 million contract from the Navy.

The $8,441,591 firm-fixed-price and cost-plus-fixed-fee, term, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract is for Virginia-class submarine electron beam welding follow-on, a news release from the Department of Defense said.

The  22-feet-long, 22-feet-wide and 22-feet-high system which was installed in 2021 aids the Dynetics welding facility in establishing North Alabama as the U.S. leader in advanced electron-beam welding for aerospace, defense and commercial sectors.

Work will be performed in Huntsville with an ordering period up to five years from the date of the award and will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year.

Naval Surface Warfare Center Carderock Division, West Bethesda, Md., is the contracting activity. Dynetics Technical Solutions is a wholly owned subsidiary of Leidos Dynetics.
