Elite 50 National Showcase softball tournament returns to Decatur for eighth year

DECATUR – If you want to see some serious softball, you need to be in Decatur this weekend.

The Elite 50 National Showcase, a premier softball event for athletes ages 14-18, is back in the River City for its eighth consecutive year.

The team-style tournament will runs Friday through Sunday at Wilson Morgan Park, 300 Beltline Road.

The Elite 50 Showcase features five pool games, with each game having a 90-minute inning limit (finish the inning) and no new inning starting after the 85-minute mark.

“We are thrilled to host the Elite 50 National Showcase for another exciting year,” said Emma Martin, communications director for Decatur Morgan County Tourism. “This event provides a fantastic platform for talented young softball players and we hope they will all make long lasting memories during their stay in Morgan County.”

Admission  is $10 per person, payable by cash only. The event will also feature concessions, food trucks, and a variety of vendors for attendees to enjoy.
