MADISON – It isn’t over till the …, well you know the rest.
Next week, the stage will be set in downtown Madison’s Home Place Park for Opera in the Park.
Presented by Opera Huntsville and Madison Visionary Partners, the free performance will be Tuesday at 7 p.m. Home Place Park is at 100 Shorter Street in Madison.
Grab a chair or blanket and enjoy iconic opera arias and musical theater favorites in a family-friendly atmosphere in Madison’s downtown park. Parking will be at the Madison City Schools stadium.
“Opera Huntsville wants to share our love of opera across North Alabama,” said Kenisha Hill
Phillips, general manager of Opera Huntsville. “Opera Bytes started as a digital project and has since transitioned to mostly in-person performances. We’ve performed all over Huntsville, so it’s time to perform in other cities in North Alabama.
“We’re especially grateful to MVP for this collaboration. Madison, here we come.”
The performance is made possible by a 2023 Community Impact Grant from Madison Visionary Partners.
“Madison Visionary Partners is excited to bring this event back to Madison,” said Executive Director Melanie Thornton. “One of the things that is integral to MVP’s success as a nonprofit is collaborative partnerships.
“We support events in Madison that not only enhance the quality of life, but build community engagement through the arts.”
As part of the grant, Opera Huntsville has two more performances planned in Madison, including Nov. 4 at the Madison Public Library. For more information, visit operahuntsville.org
