Expect a couple more weeks of nighttime closures, detours on I-565

MADISON — There is a light at the end of the tunnel or, in this case, at the end of the I-565 flyover.

The final bridge girders for the westbound on-ramp at the I-565 Town Madison Interchange (Exit 10) are being installed for the next couple of weeks.

For the safety of motorists, nighttime roadway closures will be necessary while the massive steel beams to support the future bridge decks of the ramps are hoisted into place by crane.

For the next two to three week, westbound closures Sunday nights through Thursday nights will be between 10 p.m. and 4 a.m. Westbound traffic will detour at Exit 13 Madison Boulevard and return to I-565 at Exit 9 Wall Triana Highway.

Signal timings on Madison Boulevard have been modified to accommodate the detour, and Madison Police Department will be assisting with traffic control.
