HUNTSVILLE — The Rocket City will be the Rockin’ City this weekend when the legendary Fame Studios of Muscle Shoals celebrates its 65th anniversary Saturday.
The MidCity District-Orion Amphitheater takeover features “65 Years of Fame and the Muscle Shoals Sound,” commemorating 65 years of Fame’s indelible impact on American music, from rock to soul to country and everything in between.
The weekend kicks off with two free community events before a historic celebration concert. First, The Shoal Nuff Band and Bonneville will perform a free show Friday at The Camp from 7-11 p.m.
Then from noon to 6 p.m. Saturday, Fame is taking over the MidCity District, with food trucks, vendors, interactive exhibits, activities, and performances by Outlaw Apostles, Rob Aldridge & the Proponents, and Lightwatch.
This family-friendly, all-day street festival will also feature a Muscle Shoals Songwriters in the Round event at the Camp and the Fame Stage in the street.
For the finale, Fame Studios hits the Orion Amphitheater stage for the “65 Years of Fame and the Muscle Shoals Sound” anniversary concert. Some of the iconic artists who will perform include:
